After 50 years of marriage, George Morris still adored his wife, Dorothy. Friends say the couple – high-school sweethearts in Reno – still acted like newlyweds. George called her his girlfriend or his bride. “She was my best friend. She was my everything.”

Was a pilot for PANAM and United Airlines

George was a pilot, first for PANAM based in Germany and later for United Airlines.

Retired from Reno to Tucson

The Morrises “were typical of the senior citizens who flock to Arizona to flee bad weather and stressful lives for a more leisurely lifestyle. Last year, AARP Magazine ranked Tucson No. 1 on its list of top retirement cities.” – The Washington Post, January 13, 2011.

George served in the Marines in the mid-to-late ’60s.

Took two bullets to protect his wife

When gunfire rang out, George, a former Marine, instinctively tried to shield his wife. Both were shot. Dot passed away.
